Glassfiber case

This project is my first MOD. I am interested in computer shape,
body making, glass fibre constructing, water cooling system and ITX.

Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) was built in too on the back. And put a projector inside.
I was using band cable to fix it. The computer body was built from glass fiber.
The covering is after all black colour paint. It could have been made from
carbon fibre too, but it was not necessary. I bought a head from
polystyrene (PS) at home decor store. I cut it for the good size what I needed.

The head was glued on the
28x18 cm plywood. The motherboard was stabilized and built in as well.

The holes were filled by clay
The PS could be melted by resin therefore I used release oil and after the head was covered by resin then glass fibre.
This process has been repeated two times.

The drying time took 3 hours and after the head was removed.
It was polished and painted two times.

The backboard was made by particalboard.
The units (mainboard, PSU, radiator and projector) of the main computer were built on the back.
I/O plate insert on the face.

(Hex nut screw 5 x 6 mm was inserted in the backboard frame.)

Thank you for your time for reading it. :)

I would also like to work with glass fibre but I don't really feel comfortable with the material yet.

Does it take a lot of experience to build a case like yours? How much money did you invest?

Thanks!

Hi seanbissegotz

you can also see my Nocturnal Hunter worklog (or my ongoing project Hellbat, I will start working with glass fibre here soon) You don´t need much experience just learning by doing ;)
As for the costs. It depends on your scale and if you want to use like Polyester resin (Stinks while working but cheap) or Epoxi resin (expensive but does not smell)
