Hi all!
The Mod is ready thill weeks... Im useing it
At firs I had to try out the keyboard. It was a lot funn, becouse the keys reacted fast and the whole thing performed great.
In the games I performed a bit better, and the
Monster of Gaming caught me:
Just a little more... only five more minutes...
Great Product placement photos can be found in the other worklogs, and on the Corsair.com ... So almost Skipp this part...
So this keyboard stays
I had a lot ideas, whit different materials, designs, themes and approaches.
Then I had to narrow the list, and prioritize the end goals and important functions.
This is what remained on the list:
- The comfort!
- Funn by the build, and eaven more funn when it is finished!
- My original (Monster) design, and keeping the original functions.
- Some sound, so If I want, I could use it instead of my sorround system.
I gathered a few materials, what I could use...
- the keyboard
- a small audio amplifier
- two, small front speakers
- jelly wrist rest
Pile of parts
Ok, on this picture is the "pile of use v2.0".
The original plan looked like this:
- the amplifiers original speakers where in bad condition... so I needed a few new speakers: Plan "B"
- I made a wrist rest, on my own -> Fabric and a bit Sweing + Rice filling. Then filling material => and a whole thing in a nother fabric. It is / was ok... but too high and chubby: Plan "B"
I made a bigger base. Then strenghten it whit glue and screws.
Base
- Assembling the parts. Speakers modified, so ithe two became one.
- Foam under the keybord, te prevent any unwanted noise.
- build a foam head shape araund the speakers to hold the base of the mask
we are geting somewhere...
now came the casuistry part...
Firs I arranged furr, on the mask.
Whit a Heatgun I shaped the plastic.
Then I added a layer of worbla Black art, for strengthen the structure, and to build a unique face expression.
it is alive !!
after a LOT cuting, trimming, shaping...
Smile for me
I
made a wire
"cage" for the power converter of the audio part.
BEFORE the painting of the teeth... and
after some colors...
First
rough fitting test looks ok
On the sides, it needed some buildup, and only after it could I pull on the furr.
Then again a LOT cutting, trimming... but
the right side geting somewhere...
Of course,
https://flic.kr/p/2ewcRTu is accessible for manual controll, or for a headphone
On the LEFT side I havent forgot to mak a photo from the base.
and
from the left-back and
the right-back part before the finish...
Edited:
Final photos:
The 4*50mm speakers sound cames from the eyes and the mouth part...
I finished (covered in Furr) the back part, the cables, and almost every part, what was exposed.
Some additional painting and coloring, to hide the "consistent and lifeless" furr, and give it some life.
Thus build was a lot funn, but weeks after the finish and cleaning out my workspace, I still find hairs and hairballs...
But whit a few monster growls, this
Monster of Gaming keyboard IS my own creation
