Yes, it is a lot of work,but it is worth it. My goar is to hide wood surface and all the joints on the case. This wood is easily painted even without any filler, but thean is visible that wood is used. I am aiming to matte black metal look.Good to see that you filling the whole case, but this is also a lot of grinding work. For the painting it should be a better base than the pure wood. Looking forward to see the final surface quality.
Looks very good!!! But I´ve one question, why haven´t you use black acrylic? I know it´s a little bit more expensive than wood, but you have no work with it after and save so a lot of time and the money for the colour and other things.
In my eyes it's getting better and better. At first I wasn't a big fan of your project but I really think it is thought out very well and making all the parts fit together that perfect isn't that easy (even if it is cut by a laser). The mesh cover at the front fits perfect too. How did you cut the acrylic glass and what are the "weights" (at the sixth picture) on the mesh for?
