Do you grind the edges after assembling all the parts.

Yes, I will grind edges with dremel, fill whole case and sand it with sandpaper. After that, everything will be painted in matte black.

I started filling side panels and case.

It is really messy work.

Good to see that you filling the whole case, but this is also a lot of grinding work. For the painting it should be a better base than the pure wood. Looking forward to see the final surface quality.

Yes, it is a lot of work, but it is worth it. My goar is to hide wood surface and all the joints on the case. This wood is easily painted even without any filler, but thean is visible that wood is used. I am aiming to matte black metal look. :)

I sanded and applied another layer of filler, then sanded again. :D
Case is finished with sanding and filing, but doors needs another layer.

Looks very good!!! But I´ve one question, why haven´t you use black acrylic? I know it´s a little bit more expensive than wood, but you have no work with it after and save so a lot of time and the money for the colour and other things.

Thank you! :)

It is not "little bit" expesive, itis 6-7 times more expensive than wood. For that price difference I could make several woode cases for price of one plexi case. plus, it would be impossible to make angled little pieces on side panels with plexi.

Good to see the sanded parts, but I think some of the surfaces need to be filled and sanded again to get a 100% smooth surface.

Work is continued, and it is closing the end.

Last layers of filler has been placed.
GPU mount is made out of plexi, and front mesh is finished.

In my eyes it's getting better and better. At first I wasn't a big fan of your project but I really think it is thought out very well and making all the parts fit together that perfect isn't that easy (even if it is cut by a laser). The mesh cover at the front fits perfect too. How did you cut the acrylic glass and what are the "weights" (at the sixth picture) on the mesh for?

I used dremel to cut plexiglass. Weights are for presure while gluing mesh on the frames. :)

Finally, I have finished filling and smoothing.

Ok, it is time for my last update.

I have been so busy that I didn't had enough time to upload pics from two days ago, so:

That was painting of the case. And now-some serious stuff. :D
