hey pat, how is it going. just saw this thread and all i can say is, lets do it.
i have been living in germany since 1989 and am always pleased to be able to take the knots out of my tongue by speaking english now and then.
i would also recommend that you take part in english forums like bit-tech and converse with folks there in english too.
my dialect is the north east england type which we call, geordie, a rough and crude type. but when writing no one notices.
i was born in tynemouth UK, near newcastle. my father is from the sub continent, hence the name. my mother is british.

ps: usually, the first thing i would teach you would be some real lean mean north eastern english swear words, but i doubt whether that would help your educative measures.
